Doc is co-owned with Mary Waldron and is a cherished house dog and companion. He is a smart dog, and knows a good thing when he sees it, so he pays for his kibble by making Mary laugh at least 3 times a day.
On the protection field is a strong, hard dog, that lives for a good fight from the decoy.
When we purchased Doc, we knew he was going to be a lot of dog and had made arrangements for training/titling assistance by a handler far superior to me. Unfortunately because of time and business constraints he was unable to keep the commitment and we have had to muddle through on our own.
After a lot of work and a lot of mistakes we are starting to get the control we need in protection and we hope to title him (finally!!) in Protection this next year, along with a couple of other venues.
The lack of protection titles to date is firmly at our feet, and not Doc's. We were unwilling to send him away for training and I needed to learn a heck of a lot more.
He is linebred 3-2 on Pike, 5-4 on Fero and has lines going back to Lord and Ork. This is a substantial male!
